Are you stuck in a workshop manager role and miss being out on the road? Then this opportunity could be for you! We are recruiting for a senior plant engineer, who will be based from home covering sites across Cornwall and Devon, attending breakdowns and supervising the engineers on site. Salary of £42,500, pick up truck, fuel card and plenty of overtime at an additional rate!

This senior plant engineer is an extremely reactive position where you will support the company's needs in the day to day requirements of service, maintenance and repair of plant equipment including Excavators, Dump Trucks, Diggers and Dozers from 25 tonnes including manufactures such was JCB, Kubota, Volvo and Liebherr.

Responsibilities of the Senior Plant Engineer to include:

  • Attending site breakdowns around Cornwall and Devon including St Austell and Plymouth.
  • Carrying out preventative maintenance to the company's construction equipment.
  • Use of laptop software systems to diagnose and fault find on heavy plant machinery.
  • Assisting with supervising engineers on site, ensuring the correct work is being carried out.
  • Liaise with the parts department to ensure your van is fully stocked at all times.
  • Representing the company in a professional and knowledgeable way

To be successful as the senior plant engineer, it would be ideal that you have previously worked in positions such mobile plant engineer, mobile plant fitter, field service engineer, senior engineer, senior plant engineer, workshop manager, workshop supervisor or similar. It would be ideal if you held an NVQ or City and Guilds qualification in plant maintenance or similar. You will have previously worked on plant machinery from 25 - 70 tonnes, carrying out repairs, servicing, breakdowns and maintenance. You will have strong leadership skills and experience managing engineers.
